  • 02Stresses in beams: Theory of simple bending, bending and shear stresses in beams
  • 03Beam deflection: Relationship between slope, deflection and radius of curvature, double integration method and Macaulay's method
  • 04Torsion: Analysis of torsion of circular bars, shear stress distribution, bars of solid and hollow circular section, stepped shafts
  • 05Principal stresses: Stresses in a uniaxial & biaxial member, principal plane and principal stress, graphical method for evaluation of stresses
  • 06Columns and struts: Classification of columns, slenderness ratio, Euler's formula, Rankine's formula
  • 07Thin and thick cylinders: Classification of cylinders, stresses in thin cylinders, lame's theory for evaluation of stresses in thick cylinders
